pretty, happy,funny,real, summer edition!

Pretty-The garden is in full bloom right now. The hummingbirds love this little corner, and I hear them buzzing around the garden as I drink my morning coffee.
Happy-Panzanella salad with tomatoes and basil from the garden! Fresh vegetables from the garden is always happy, but when the season has been as late as ours, it is more like elation!
Funny-Estelle keeping the kitten (which was dumped off at our store) happy. She wanted to sleep in there that night, but the kitten found a home that afternoon.
Real-This idyllic scene? Chaos a moment after I took the picture! Stuart decided he objected to the mud on his hands, and tried to wipe it on the cat, who promptly ran away. He then wiped his hands on Estelle, who threw mud back at him, which somehow turned in to a huge mud fight with three children involved. After showers and the girls sweeping mud off of my sidewalk and back door, we finished Wind in the Willows and peace was restored! Joining Like Mother, Like Daughter for another week of pretty, happy, funny, real!

  1. I have never understood how someone just discard an animal. So glad it found a home.

PS- Sorry you lost your tomatoes, but what a deal your son scored!

  2. Love Estelle in the kennel!! What a tiny kitten, glad you found it a home.

The salad looks great, but wouldn't go over well around here. Ella and Colin don't know what tastes good :)

  3. We used to shut our little hurricane into the kennel. She loved it! And then we'd release her and she'd go spinning off... :)
