first roses!

The first roses of the year!

The strawberry planter
I picked the first roses today (had to get them in before the rains began again!) and tomorrow we plant next year's strawberry field. Before too much longer, I will have great jugs of beautiful  scented roses filling the house, bowls of ripe strawberries to turn in to jam and fruit leather, and hundreds of phone calls a day. Hooray for summer!

  2. I'm so jealous. I'm not even sure if all my roses survived yet. A few of them have leaves, but that's it. I love pale pink roses.

  3. Thank you, Tracey! So far, so good!Paula, what happened to your roses? I am so sorry you lost them!We lost all of our plum blossoms in a late freeze-wish we could trade roses for plums!

  4. I'm not sure if they are dead yet. They are so slow putting out any leaves or signs of life. Everything is so slow. My lilacs are FINALLY starting to flower. Those should have been open for my birthday.
